Fowler set for Premier League return15:03 Fri 11 July 2008 Robbie Fowler is set to return to England's top flight after joining up with Blackburn Rovers for their pre-season programme. The former England striker spent last season in Division One with Cardiff City, scoring 6 goals in 16 games. The ex-Liverpool player will train with Blackburn before taking part in the club's pre-season tour of Germany. New Blackburn boss Paul Ince is said to be looking to reinforce his options up front with Roque Santa Cruz rumoured to be leaving Ewood Park. Cardiff City are also keen to offload Fowler to generate some transfer funds. Chairman Peter Ridsdale told the BBC that it was understandable that Fowler had accepted the chance to return to the Premier League. |
