Barcelona increase their offer for Adebayor to £30m10:16 Fri 04 July 2008 Barcelona are reported to have increased their offer for Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor to £30m. The Gunners rejected the Catalan club's initial offer of £24m but admitted that they would be willing to sell the Togo striker if the price was right. Arsenal paid only £4.2m for Adebayor a year and a half ago but the 24-year-old's value has risen immeasurably since he swapped Monaco for the Premier League. The Togo international earns around £35,000-a-week at Arsenal and is reported to be looking to secure a more lucrative deal elsewhere. Barcelona have already secured the services of Brazilian fullback Daniel Alves from Sevilla for £23.5m. The signing of Adebayor would be another step in the club's rebuilding process after they sanctioned the sale of Samuel Eto'o, Ronaldinho and Deco. |
