Williams sisters meet in Wimbledon ladies final09:53 Fri 04 July 2008 The Williams sisters, Venus and Serena, will meet in the ladies final at Wimbledon tomorrow. It will be the third time that the American siblings have contested the final of the world's most famous tournament, with Serena having beaten her sister in 2002 and 2003. Serena beat China's Zheng Jie 6-2, 7-6 yesterday to set up the all Williams final. But the final has been shrouded in controversy after beaten semi-finalist, Elena Dementieva, suggested that the Williams sisters will decide the winner in advance of tomorrow's match. Back in 2001 Dementieva claimed that Richard Williams, the girls' father, decides the outcome of any head to head meetings between his daughters. These claims were strongly rejected yesterday by reigning Wimbledon champion Venus Williams. |
