AC Milan priced out of Adebayor transfer11:17 Thu 03 July 2008 According to the Guardian, AC Milan have been priced out of a move for Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor with Barcelona waiting in the wings to sign the Togo international. The North London club have already rejected a £24m bid from the Catalan giants. Adebayor, Arsenal's top scorer last season with 30 goals, has been subject to speculation over his future in the last few weeks having first declared his commitment to the Gunners while later talking up a move to another club. Barcelona and Milan have both since openly declared their interest in signing the 24-year-old. Arsene Wenger doesn't want to lose his top scorer but is reported to be prepared to sell if a club is willing to meet Arsenal's asking price. Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz and Newcastle's Obafemi Martins have both been earmarked as potential replacements if Adebayor moves away from the Emirates. |
