Murray faces Nadal in Wimbledon quarter-final09:52 Wed 02 July 2008 Andy Murray faces the biggest test of his career when he takes on world No2 Rafael Nadal on Centre Court at Wimbledon today. The British No1 has called on the home crowd to show their support in the quarter-final showdown. The 21-year-old Scot created an upset at Wimbledon on Monday when he made a remarkable comeback to beat France's Richard Gasquet. Murray now believes that he can pull off another shock victory in his first ever Grand Slam quarter-final. 'I think the win over Gasquet was a real turning point in my career and for me at Wimbledon,' he told reporters. 'It was a real battle from start to finish and the crowd really lifted me when I was behind. I've never experienced the effect of the crowd like that before and it gave me goosebumps.' But Murray knows that he will have to play the match of his life to beat Nadal. The Spaniard has come out on top in the pair's three previous meetings, beating the British No1 in straight sets at the German Open earlier this year. |
