After signing Cardiff youngster Aaron Ramsey earlier this week Arsene Wenger looks set to add insult to injury by beating Sir Alex Ferguson to yet another signature. According to The Daily Mail Arsenal have made a £10m bid for Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz.

The former Bayern Munich player scored 23 goals in his first season in the Premier League and seems keen on a move to the Emirates rather than to rivals Manchester United. With Arsenal looking likely to lose top scorer Emmanuel Adebayor to AC Milan the Paraguay international would be an ideal replacement.

Santa Cruz looks set to form a new look front two for the Gunners with Croatian international Eduardo. The Brazilian born player is making a good recovery from the horrific injury suffered back in February against Birmingham.
