Ancelotti rules himself out of Chelsea job11:45 Wed 04 June 2008 AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has ruled himself out of the vacant manager's job at Chelsea. Roman Abramovich is reported to have met with the former Italian international in Paris last Monday but Ancelotti has denied the allegations. Ancelotti is the latest in a long line of high profile candidates to be ruled out of taking over from Avram Grant with Sven Goran Erikkson heading for Mexico, Guus Hiddink set to see out his contract with Russia, Frank Rijkaard looking for some time away from football and Mark Hughes set to take over at Manchester City. Chelsea's focus has now shifted onto the Portugal manager Felipe Scolari although the name of the Roma's Luciano Spalletti has been added to the list. Spalletti led Roma to second place in Serie A this season and his teams play the type of attractive football that Abramovich reportedly covets. Watch this space. |
