Arsenal make £12m bid for Marseille's Samir Nasri11:54 Thu 22 May 2008 After losing Flamini to AC Milan and Hleb looking Inter bound, the Arsenal rebuilding process has begun with a bid for French playmaker Samir Nasri. According to the player's agent the Olympique Marseille midfielder is mulling over a four-year deal with the Gunners.
At only twenty Nasri is already a full French international and should feature in the European Championships next month. He is the latest in a long line of French players to be dubbed the new Zidane. A quick, skillful player who can operate in central midfield or on the flank, Nasri would be the perfect replacement for Hleb if leaves noisy London for the tranquility of Milan. Arsenal are said to have made an offer of £12m for the Marseille player and will be hoping to close the deal ahead of Euro 2008 which could see Nasri's star and price rise even higher.
