Manchester United draw with Barcelona at the Nou Camp10:43 Thu 24 April 2008 Manchester United drew 0-0 with Barcelona last night at the Nou Camp in the Champions League semi-final first leg. United were workmanlike in a disappointing game which only briefly sparked into life.
United were awarded a penalty after three minutes when Iniesta blocked a Cristiano Ronaldo header with his hands. But the Portuguese winger has obviously been taking lessons on penalty taking from Daniele De Rossi & Co. as he lashed his spot kick high and wide. Barcelona struggled to break down a miserly United back four that performed well without Vidic, who missed the game due to a stomach bug. Messi and Iniesta combined well in the second half to set up Eto'o with Barcelona's best chance of the game, but the Cameroon international hit his shot into the side netting. The result means that the tie is still in the balance and hopefully next Tuesday's game will be a little bit easier on the eye. Barcelona 0 Man Utd 0 |
