Murray sets up a Wimbledon quarter-final with Nadal
Andy Murray produced a remarkable comeback on Centre Court at Wimbledon yesterday beating France's Richard Gasquet 5-7, 3-6, 7-6, 6-2, 6-4. The win earned the British No1 his first ever Grand Slam quarter-final where he will meet world No2 Rafael Nadal.
Gasquet started the better dominating the first three sets. The Frenchman served for the match in the third set but blew his chance to wrap up the tie and Murray took his chance to claw his way back into the match.
The Scot won the third set on a tie-break and from then on the momentum in the match shifted towards the British No1. The crowd on Centre Court got behind Murray and he took the fourth set 6-2 in 25 minutes.
Murray will meet Nadal in tomorrow's quarter-final and is sure to have the vocal support of the home crowd behind him. Never short on self belief, the British No1 thinks he can pull off another victory. "Obviously he's the favourite but I think I can win."
