Mourinho dismisses Michael Owen to Inter rumours

Jose Mourinho has dismissed rumours that Inter Milan want to sign Newcastle striker Michael Owen in the January transfer window. The former Chelsea boss told reporters that the Newcastle striker was too injury prone and past his best.

The Daily Mail had reported that Mourinho was set to make a bid for Owen in the January transfer window as Inter's number one target Didier Drogba wasn't available. But the 'special one' told reporters: "I haven't given him any thought at all. The last year he has had serious injuries and he is no longer the Owen that we all knew."

Mourinho also talked up his side's meeting with Manchester United in the Champions League: "Bring them on. I really wanted Manchester United because I don't see any great difference between them Bayern, Liverpool or Barcelona and seeing as I like pressure and emotion these win or die games playing against the Champions of Europe and the world is perfect for me." Sir Alex Ferguson will no doubt be hoping that Jose and his team will be 'dead' after the two-legged tie in February.
