More ESPN goodies

New sport broadcaster on the block ESPN has got its hands on right for to show football from the top divisions of Germany, Russia, Portugal and The Netherlands, which they will broadcast alongside its Premier League coverage from both England and Scotland and MLS stuff from the states.

The channel officially launches next Monday and will be available on channels 417 and 443 on SKY, and they are going pretty big on the best league they’ve snapped up; Germany’s Bundesliga. Not only have they agreed a multi-year deal with the league to show five games a week (in HD and standard definition), but they’ve also got a preview and highlights show in the works.

‘We are delighted to bring viewers in the UK and Ireland access to a further lineup of some of the world's finest footballers and top clubs,’ said Jereon Oerlemans, ESPN EMEA’s vice president of TV channels. ‘We feel these deals represent an excellent addition to ESPN as we look to build the channel with great local and international sports.’
