AC Milan are reported to have rejected an offer of £7m plus Claudio Pizarro from Chelsea for Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo.
The Serie A club's vice-president confirmed that Chelsea had made an official approach for Pirlo but described it as 'unsatisfactory'. The midfielder has been linked with a move to the Blues ever since former Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti took over at Stamford Bridge at the start of the summer.
"The offer of £7 million plus Claudio Pizarro is not satisfactory...under these conditions Pirlo is not for sale," Galliani told the Italian media.
Now that Chelsea have confirmed their interest in the 30-year-old World Cup winner it remains to be seen if the Premier League club will be willing to up its initial offer.
