Megson brands abusive Bolton fans 'pathetic'

Gary Megson has branded the Bolton fans who abused him following the club's 2-2 with Blackburn at Ewood Park as pathetic. Wanderers were leading 2-0 midway through the second half thanks to goals from Matthew Taylor and Kevin Davies before Rovers hit back.

Steven Warnock and Benni McCarthy got on the score sheet for Blackburn who nearly won the game late on when skipper Ryan Nelson's header hit the post. Bolton's late collapse prompted a number of the visiting fans to take out their frustration on the club's under fire boss Megson.

"I've had to cope with it for a long time and I don't like it. It's pathetic," Megson commented after the match. "The reaction to myself is absolutely astounding. The players are having to cope with it and it makes it difficult. When they are slaughtering me it makes the players angry."
