Steven Hendry has made plenty of history at the Crucible in his long and distinguished career, but today he proved that he's still capable or challenging the new breed. The ninth 147 break of his career put him 5-2 up against Shaun Murphy.
The Scot will receive a rather nice novelty cheque for £147,000, providing that no-one else manages to match him. But that's not certain – in today's other match Mark Selby racked up three centuries in the first three frames against John Higgins, and until the final pink in frame three had a pot success of 100%. He's currently 3-1 up.
Hopefully those who were bemoaning the exit of Ronnie O'Sullivan will sit up and take notice. Snooker is ace and this year's has been brilliant so far – so watch it.
