Maradona advises Tevez to leave United for Inter
Diego Maradona has advised Carlos Tevez to leave Manchester United for Inter Milan at the end of the season to further his career. The Argentina manager was at Old Trafford on Sunday to see United thump Chelsea but Tevez was left to sit the match out on the bench.
Maradona told reporters in Italy that he was unhappy that the Argentina international is not starting for last season's Premier League champions: "I saw Manchester United win without Tevez. This isn't good for him".
The '86 World Cup winning captain believes that Tevez should start looking elsewhere if United are unwilling to offer him a new contract by the end of the season. Inter Milan looks to be the hand of god merchant's preferred destination for the former West Ham player: "Certain episodes are certainly bringing closer his exit. Italy and Inter in particular would be excellent solutions. What's more, his contract is running out, which makes it easier to change team." It's not clear what Jose Mourinho thinks about any possible deal.
Tevez's two-year loan deal at United runs out at the end of the season and despite being one of the club's stand out players last year he has lost his place in the First XI to summer signing Dimitar Berbatov. With United reported to have have to pay a fee of £30m to keep the Argentinian at the club it looks like old Carlos is on his way out.
