Manchester United take on Celtic in Champions League

Manchester United and Celtic go head to head tonight in the Champions League at Old Trafford in the umpteenth 'Battle of Britain' game over the last few years. While there is always a great sense of occasion when the two sides meet, Celtic will be missing a number of key players through injury.

Both Georgios Samaras and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink are out leaving Gordan Strachan worried about a lack of firepower up front. Sir Alex Ferguson's biggest headache is something of an embarrassment of riches: how to play Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Dimitar Berbatov in the same team.

Everything points to a home win for United especially when Celtic's away record in the Champions League is taken into consideration: played 18, lost 17, conceded 37. But if United let the sense of occasion get to them and the game turns into a dogfight anything could happen.
