Manchester United were crowned Premier League champions this afternoon after picking up a point in their 0-0 draw with Arsenal at Old Trafford. The result sees United equal Liverpool's record of 18 league titles.
While United have picked up just 5 points from a possible 18 in head to head clashes with the other top four sides, Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has even claimed that the Red Devils aren't the best side in the Premier League, the table doesn't lie and Sir Alex Ferguson has now secured his 11th title.
The Old Trafford faithful had turned up hoping to witness United win the title with some champagne football but events on the pitch didn't live up to the hype. Robin van Persie went close to raining on United's parade but wasted a brilliant cross from Andrei Arshavin in the first half.
Despite putting in a well below par performance, United just did enough to secure a point and finally end Liverpool's title hopes.
