Manchester United comfortably beat Aalborg
Manchester United comfortably beat AaB Aalborg 3-0 last night in Denmark in their Group E Champions League game, but the victory came at high price in terms of injuries.
Both Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney picked up knocks and had to be replaced. The veteran midfielder is expected to be out for two months while Rooney is now doubtful for England’s World Cup qualifier with Kazakhstan next week.
On a brighter note, Dimitar Berbatov got off the mark for United with an impressive brace. The Bulgarian flashed an easy chance wide early on, but made amends with two neat finishes in the second half.
Rooney had opened the scoring after twenty-two minutes getting on the end of a lovely through ball from Ryan Giggs. With players of the calibre of Giggs and Tevez on the bench, United showed that they'll be good value to defend their title this year.
