Manchester United beat Blackburn 5-3 at Old Trafford last night to reach to the semi-finals of the Carling Cup. Argentina striker Carlos Tevez scored a hat-trick to put pressure on Dimitar Berbatov.
Sir Alex Ferguson was naturally delighted with Tevez's display: "Carlos' commitment was absolutely brilliant. It was a marvellous effort to get four goals. It definitely makes my job more difficult, although it also makes the club stronger."
Blackburn fought hard throughout, with Benni McCarthy and Matt Derbyshire both getting on the score-sheet. But they were unable to deal with United's superior fire-power provided by Tevez, Anderson and Giggs.
The result heaps even further pressure on Blackurn manager Paul Ince who has picked up just one win in eleven games. The travelling fans made their feelings known at half-time after another disappointing performance.manutd v backburn
