Manchester United 3 Fulham 0

Wayne Rooney fired Manchester United back to the top of the Premier League with a second-half brace against Fulham at Old Trafford this afternoon. Dimitar Berbatov added a third in a 3-0 win.

Fulham pulled off a shock 3-0 win over United back in December but there appeared to be little chance of another upset today with the visitors looking jaded after their trip to Turin to face Juventus in the Europa League on Thursday.

Bobby Zamora went closest for Fulham with a volley in the first-half after a pinpoint through ball from Danny Murphy. However, normal service was resumed early in the second-half when Rooney played a one-two with Nani before firing past Mark Schwarzer in the Fulham goal.

United struggled to control the game and Zamora once again went close for Fulham but Rooney grabbed his second in the 84th minute after some good work down the right by Berbatov. The Bulgarian made sure of the points when he headed home Park Ji-sung cross seconds before the final whistle.
