Manchester City look to sign Samuel Eto'o from Barcelona
Manchester City are reported to be in talks with Barcelona over the possibility of bringing Samuel Eto'o to Eastlands during the summer. While the news may have seemed unlikely a few weeks back, the Catalan club have said that they are open to offers for the Cameroon international.
Despite scoring 36 goals this season including the opening goal in the Champions League final against Manchester United in Rome last week, it seems that Eto'o is now considered surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta hinted that the La Liga champions want to sell the prolific striker: "It would be lovely if Samuel could finish his career here. But the market is very dynamic and there could be surprises in store. Eto'o is one of those players for whom you get important offers."
The Cameroon international looked set to leave Barcelona last year, almost moving to Uzbekistan at one point, but now it seems that City fans could soon be set to see Robinho and Eto'o linking up together next season.
