Manchester City 2 Fulham 2

Manchester City drew 2-2 at home with Fulham this afternoon despite having taken a two-goal lead. The result and the performance have raised some question marks about City's chances of breaking into the top four this season.

Bobby Zamora produced the miss of the season so far three minutes into the second half when the game scoreless shooting over from six yards out with the goal at his mercy. The miss looked like it would prove costly when five minutes later Joleon Lescott put the home side ahead.

The former Everton defender bundled the ball past Mark Schwarzer after a game of ping pong in the six yard following a Craig Bellamy corner. City doubled their lead seven minutes later when the in form Martin Petrov collected a Gareth Barry cross before sweeping the ball past Schwarzer.

The home side must have thought that the three points were already in the bag, but Fulham had other ideas. Damien Duff pulled a goal back on 62 minutes and the sides were level just 6 minutes later when Clint Dempsey headed home a Jonathon Greening free-kick.

Zamora came close to atoning for his howling miss with a brilliant chance to win the game in the dying seconds, but the striker once again fluffed his lines with City hanging on for a point.
