Liverpool are reported to have tabled a £13 million bid for Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson.
The highly-rated 20-year-old had been previously linked with Manchester United, City and Arsenal but is reported to have told friends that he would prefer a move to Anfield.
The move is still not guaranteed with Sunderland believed to have put a £20 million price tag on Henderson. Sunderland will also be reluctant to allow their prize asset to leave without having lined up a suitable replacement.
However, the England international could be a Liverpool player by the time he returns from the European Under-21 Championships at the end of June.
