Liverpool go top after beating West Brom
Liverpool beat West Bromich Albion 3-0 yesterday at Anfield to go top of the Premier League. Robbie Keane opened his Premier League account with the Reds, chipping over Carson after a beautiful pass from Steven Gerrard.
The Irish striker bagged his and Liverpool's second just before the break, racing onto a through ball from Aurelio. Keane was denied a hat-trick by some alert keeping from Scott Carson but Arbeloa put the result beyond doubt with an excellent left foot finish after some great build-up play by Kuyt.
Fernando Torres made his Liverpool comeback from injury in the second half; with Keane finding his scoring touch and El Nino back to full fitness, the Reds' title hopes have been given a major boost.
