Liverpool missed a golden opportunity to go three points clear of Chelsea at the top of the Premier League after drawing 0-0 with West Ham at Anfield tonight. Rafa Benitez's side moved a point clear at the top of the table, but with Chelsea losing at home yesterday the Reds could have stretched their lead even further.
The result was Liverpool's second 0-0 draw on the trot and puts serious question marks over their title credentials. The Reds controlled the game through Xavi Alonso and created a number of good chances but it was West Ham who came closest to breaking the deadlock when Bellamy hit the post from 25 yards.
Fernando Torres was out with a persistent hamstring problem and his replacement Robbie Keane again failed to live up to his £20.3m price tag. If Liverpool are going to win the Premier League they will need Torres back to full fitness as soon as possible.
