Liverpool beat PSV Eindhoven 3-1 at the Philips Stadium to finish top of Group D in the Champions League. It was a good result for a Reds team missing the likes of Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard, Xabi Alonso and Jose Reina.
Alberto Riera and David Ngog secured the victory for Rafa Benitez's side with second half goals. Danko Lazovic had put PSV ahead in the first half before Ryan Babel equalized for Liverpool.
Robbie Keane started up front and again failed to find the back of the net. But the £20.3m summer signing created an array of chances for his team-mates including a sublime volleyed pass to set up Ngog for Liverpool's third.
