Liverpool beat Fulham 1-0 to go top of the league
Liverpool went top of the Premier League this afternoon with a dramatic 1-0 over Fulham at Craven Cottage. Yossi Benayoun scored an injury time winner to keep the Reds' title hopes alive.
The win leaves Liverpool two points ahead of Manchester United, but Sir Alex Ferguson's side have two games in hand. However, the win was anything but easy for Rafa Benitez's team with Mark Scwarzer living a charmed life in the Fulham goal.
Liverpool hit the woodwork on four separate occasions in the first-half with the unlucky Andrea Dossena twice hitting the cross-bar. But Benayoun kept his cool late on when Steven Gerrard laid on a perfect goalscoring opportunity to fire past Schwarzer sparking scenes of unbridled joy on the Liverpool bench.
