Lewis Hamilton wins Turkish grand prix

Lewis Hamilton celebrated his first win of the Formula One season with a dramatic finish at the Turkish grand prix in Istanbul earlier this afternoon.

After 39 laps Mark Webber was leading the race from his Red Bull team-mate Sebastien Vettel and looked set to secure his third victory of the season.

However, a moment of madness from Vettel saw him crash out of the race allowing Hamilton and his McLaren team-mate Jenson Button finish first and second.

The young German driver needlessly attempted to overtake Webber in lap 40 with the two drivers momentarily colliding and Vettel retiring from the race.

Webber lost part of his front wing which forced him to make an unscheduled pit stop. Hamilton and Button took full advantage of Vettel’s indiscipline to claim a famous one-two finish for McLaren.
