Lescott dropped from Everton squad

Everton have dropped Joleon Lescott from their first team squad for tonight's Europa League play-off game against Czech club Sigma Olomouc at Goodison Park.

David Moyes oversaw first team training this morning at their Finch Farm complex today and Lescott was absent from the group.

Later the Everton manager confirmed that Lescott had been dropped for his bad attitude: "Joleon's attitude has not been right these past days; he has disappointed me and he has disappointed his team-mates. He is not in the right frame of mind."

The England defender has been repeatedly linked with a £20m to the Premier League's big spenders Manchester City but the Liverpool club have refused to sell.

"People can read what they like into this. But I have said all along I don't want to sell him. But it is a bit like Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Manchester United, there is always a price," Moyes continued.

"At this moment no club has made us an offer for the player that we want to accept. I hope this will all be sorted out, after the [transfer] deadline."
