Kaka gives Brazil last minute win over Egypt

Kaka scored a last minuted penalty to give Brazil a 4-3 win over Egypt in the Confederations Cup this afternoon at Bloemfontein. The South Americans champions looked to be cruising at 3-1 thanks to goals from Kaka, Luis Fabiano and Juan before the African champions came storming back.

Brazil, as usual, looked good going forward but suspect at the back and Mohamed Shawky and Mohamed Zidan, who had scored with a header in the first half, took full advantage and Egypt were level after 60 minutes. The North African side looked favourites to snatch a memorable victory, but the defensive frailties which had allowed Brazil to race ahead in the first half once again came to the fore.

Defender Ahmed Al Muhamadi handled a shot from Lucio on the line and was given a straight red-card. Real Madrid's new €68million signing then stepped up to nervelessly slot home the resulting penalty kick and give the Seleção a narrow victory.
