Juventus look to sign Modric from Spurs
Juventus are looking to sign Luka Modric as a replacement for veteran midfielder Pavel Nedved according to rumours in a number of papers this morning. The 23-year-old joined Tottenham from Dinamo Zagreb during the summer for £16.5m but has blown hot and cold so far in the Premier League.
Juve have been persistently linked to the Crotia playmaker over the last 12 months and his agent Sabatino Durante talked up the possibility on a number of back pages this morning. "Modric has been one of the best midfielders in Europe for the last two or three years, because he has just the right mix of quantity and quality," Durante said. "He can play in Nedved's position, just behind the strikers. Basically, he can do everything."
The news will come as a blow for Spurs fans who have warmed to Modric, but if he does leave White Hart Lane it will give Harry Redknapp some money to spend on new talent according to the player's agent: "Modric will not leave London for less than 24m euros."
