Jenson Button wins the Monaco grand prix
Jenson Button continued his dream start to this season's Formula 1 season when he won the Monaco grand prix, his fifth victory of the season. The result sees the Brawn driver move well ahead of the chasing party in the driver's championship on 51 points.
Button's Brawn team-mate Rubens Barrichello finished in second place on another brilliant day for the newly formed team. The English driver started on pole position and led throughout the race.
"This victory is massive for us. I got off the line clean, and it was all good from there other than the usual Monaco things such as traffic and the barriers getting nearer and nearer as the race dragged on," Button said following the race.
The Brawn driver continued: "It's been an outstanding weekend. The team have been fabulous, and we're looking very strong over the next few races. Before the weekend I said winning here would not mean as much, but that was just to take the pressure off my shoulders. In fact, to win here is fantastic. It does mean so much."
Last year's Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton continued his terrible form finishing back in 12th place.
