It's on again

One of last summer's most tedious transfer sagas was Cesc Fabregas' craven attempts to leave Arsenal and join Barcelona. It never happened, but it was clear that we would have to sit through it all again the following close season.

So guess what! Barcelona's president Sandro Rosell has claimed that Fabregas is doing 'everything he can' to join the Catalan giants, where he played as a boy. This will no doubt annoy Gunners fans, who listened to him say that he was going to stay not all that long ago, but it looks as though the lure of the home town club is just too much for him.

The only problem will be the fee, which Barca and Arsenal cannot agree on, Arsenal want €40million, while Barca are reluctant to pay such a fee for a player who will spend most of his time on the bench.

'He is doing everything he can to come,' he said on Catalan television last night. 'Guardiola knows the values of players and Cesc's is less than €40m (£35.4m). Barcelona will offer less and if they (Arsenal) don't accept, then he won't come. Pep knows the club is not well-off in terms of money.'
