Ireland beat Wales 17-15 last night to end their 61-year wait for their second ever Grand Slam. Fly-half Ronan O'Gara scored a vital drop goal three minutes from the end to seal the famous victory.
But the drama still wasn't finished; Ireland gave away a late penalty which Stephen Jones elected to kick. Just as it seemed that Irish hearts would be broken, the Welsh No 10's kick fell short sending the 15,000 Ireland fans at the Millennium Stadium wild.
Despite the pre-match hype, the first-half was a tense and bad tempered affair which saw Wales go in 6-0 ahead at the break. But just when it seemed that Ireland were again going to be dubbed as chokers they scored two tries at the start of the second-half through Brian O'Driscoll and Tommy Bowe to set up the win.
