Ireland beat France 30-21 at Croke Park

Ireland beat France 30-21 in an enthralling 6 Nations clash at Croke Park to put themselves into contention for the title. The game produced five tries and was punctuated by some brilliant attacking rugby from both sides.

Leinster and Ireland Number 8 Jamie Heaslip was the man of the match showing excellent feet and a clean set of heels to rip the French defence to shreds and cross the line for Ireland just before the end of the first half. Skipper Brian O'Driscoll capped a vintage performance with a brilliant try early in the second half before Gordon D'Arcy came off the bench to seal a famous win for Ireland.

France played well with fly half Lionel Beauxis showing some silky skills out of hand and pinpoint accuracy with the boot. Imanol Harinordoquy and Maxime Medard both scored good tries for Les Bleus, but Ireland defended heroically to seal their first win over France in seven attempts.
