Ireland beat England 14-13 at Croke Park
Ireland beat England l4-13 this afternoon in the 6 Nations at Croke Park to keep their dreams of a Grand Slam alive. The bruising encounter was low on thrills but big on tension and drama with Ireland captain Brian O'Driscoll once again rolling back the years to produce a world class performance.
The Ireland number 13 scored a try and a drop goal as well as producing another heroic defensive effort. England were once again let down by their indiscipline giving away too many penalties while Phil Vickery and Danny Care both spending ten minutes in the sin bin.
Only Ronan O'Gara's uncharacteristic bad day with the boot kept England in the game but Martin Johnson's players wasted a number of good opportunities. Delon Armitage scored a try in the 79th minute to give Ireland a nervous last few seconds but England fans were once again left frustrated and disappointed.
