Injured Fabregas out for three weeks

Cesc Fabregas could be out for three weeks with the hamstring injury he picked up during Arsenal's 2-0 defeat to Braga in the Champions League last night.

The Spain midfielder went off injured on 69 minutes after suffering a recurrence of the problem which has blighted his season.

Things got even worse for Arsene Wenger when Emmanuel Eboue was later stretchered off with a knee injury.

‘Eboue will be out for a while and we will have to asses Fabregas,’ Wenger told Arsenal.com. ‘It could be two to three weeks. It is very disappointing because I had a hesitation to play him before the match started. I took the gamble and it backfired on us.’

Arsenal take on Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday and then have a date with Wigan in the quarter-finals of the League Cup on Tuesday.
