Iniesta sends Barcelona into Champions League final
Andrés Iniesta scored an injury time equalizer against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last night to send Barcelona through to the Champions League final in Rome where they will meet Manchester United.
Chelsea went ahead on eight minutes thanks to a brilliant goal from Ghana midfielder Michael Essien and looked set to qualify for their second successive Champions League final. Despite enjoying greater possession and passing the ball well Barcelona struggled to break Chelsea down.
The Catalan side were reduced to ten men in the second half when Eric Abidal was sent off for a body check on Nicolas Anelka but Barcelona still continued to pass the ball better than their Premier League opponents. Iniesta's crucial away goal sets up a truly salivating final between arguably the two best teams in Europe.
