In it to win it

Rafael Nadal cruised to the Wimbledon championship at the weekend with a calm straight-sets dispatching of 12th seed Tomas Berdych, taking his second title at SW19 and setting him up for the a potential career Grand Slam of major titles.

Nadal only has to add the US Open – a tournament he has never even made the final in – to his collection to complete the set of Grand Slam tournaments, and he says he’ll be trying his best to capture it.

‘For sure, I'm going to keep working to try to be in the US Open and ready to try to win,’ The Spaniard said. ‘The US Open is going to be one of my goals for the rest of my career. I'm very happy to win Wimbledon. We are going to think about the US Open in one month. Right now we just relax and enjoy the beach, fishing, golf, friends, party and Mallorca.’ Watch out for those ex-pats and Brits abroad, eh?
