Ibrahimovic joins Barcelona in swap deal with Eto'o
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has joined Barcelona from Inter Milan with Samuel Eto'o going in the opposite direction. The pair still need to agree personal terms with their respective new clubs, but the deal is close to completion according to Barcelona's website.
The Catalan club are reported to have paid £40m plus Eto'o and former Arsenal midfielder Alexsandr Hleb who will join the Serie A champions on a season long loan, but Barca's spending may not have ended with the arrival of Ibrahimovic with the club still interested in Valencia striker David Villa.
"The Ibrahimovic deal is not done and dusted and it would be too early to say which of the two options is the most satisfactory," Laporta told reporters. "In the end we will choose the option that is best for Barca."
The Sweden striker becomes the second player to swap Inter for Barcelona this summer following the signing of Brazilian left-back Maxwell for £3.5m earlier this week.
