Hiddink leaves Stamford Bridge on a high note

Chelsea interim boss Guus Hiddink said goodbye to Stamford Bridge on a high note with a 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers. While AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti is expected to take over at the Bridge during the summer, Chelsea fans made it clear that they want Hiddink to stay on.

It's not too difficult to see why with Chelsea dropping just 5 points in 12 league games since the Dutchman took over from Luiz Felipe Scolari. The Blues' performance this afternoon again underlined the impact that the arrival of Hiddink has had on the team.

Flourent Malouda put Chelsea ahead after just four minutes when he headed a Nicolas Anelka cross past Paul Robinson in the Blackburn goal. The Blues wasted a number of good chances before Anelka made it 2-0 midway through the second half putting the game beyond Rovers' reach.

Despite chants of 'There's only one Guus Hiddink' at the end, the former PSV Eindhoven is set to return to his job as manager of Russia leaving Abramovich with the difficult task of finding a replacement who can get results and win the crowd over as quickly as Hiddink did.
