Hiddink confirms that he has get out clause

Chelsea fans will be hoping that Russia's World Cup qualifying campaign hits the rocks after Guus Hiddink confirmed that he has a get out clause if Russia fail to make it to South Africa 2010.

The Dutchman has made an instant impression at Stamford Bridge and both Blues fans and players alike have called for Hiddink to stay on past the end of the current season. Russia are currently in second place in Group Four behind leaders Germany.

"My contract expires at the period of 2010 World Cup. But we also said, as men, that if we don't qualify with Russia, and the Russian Federation likes to go in a different direction or strategy, then we have to talk about how to end the contract," Hiddink said.

The former PSV manager continued: "So we put a clause in there saying that, if Russia do not qualify, we can talk about leaving at the end of the qualification stage." The news gives Chelsea fans a glimmer of hope.
