He's staying

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has said the words that might just give Liverpool fans cause for optimism for the upcoming season: Fernando Torres wants to stay at Liverpool. The Spain striker has been linked with moves to Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester City, but The Reds’ boss has confirmed that he has spoken to him and that he would prefer to stay on Merseyside.

‘Fernando Torres has told us he wants to come back,’ Hodgson said yesterday. ‘He's told us he's looking forward to Monday and getting back to work and playing for us next season. That's what we know and as far as I'm concerned, all others reports are erroneous.

‘He's having a well-deserved break with his family. He's keeping a low profile and not really talking to anyone, but he has spoken to us.’
