Goalkeeper Danny Cepero scores on MLS debut
Sportscence has long championed goal scoring goalkeepers from Chilavert to Steve Goodwin, so it would be rude to overlook Danny Cepero's goal for the New York Red Bulls on his MLS debut at the weekend.
The rookie goalkeeper hit the ball from the 25-yard line all the way into the N-Zone for a touchdown, sorry a goal. It's the first time that a keeper has scored in American Big League Soccer Ball. Hats off to Danny but you have to ask what the hell was Columbus Crew's net-minder Andy Gruenebaum doing?
