Giggs secures a point for United against Celtic
Manchester United drew 1-1 with Celtic last night in the Champions League thanks to a late goal from veteran winger Ryan Giggs. Sir Alex Ferguson's side were facing defeat before the 34-year-old headed home from close range late into the second half.
The point all but secures United's passage into the last sixteen of the Champions League. Celtic, who needed a win to keep their European dreams alive, went ahead in the first half through a brilliant lob from Scott Mc Donald.
The goal seemed to come too early for the SPL Champions as they struggled to keep United at bay. Both Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic had good chances to level things for Sir Alex Ferguson's side before Giggs was first to react after Celtic keeper Boruc had spilt Ronaldo's swerving long range effort.
