Gerrard commits his long-term future to Liverpool
Steven Gerrard has confirmed that he wants to commit his long-term future to Liverpool. The Reds captain also admitted that he hopes to emulate David Beckham by earning over 100 caps for England.
The news will come as relief for Liverpool fans with Gerrard in the form of his life inspiring his team to big wins over Real Madrid, Manchester United and Aston Villa over the last two weeks. "I have never been happier than I am at the moment," the midfielder told reporters. "I have two years left on my contract and if there was a chance to extend it, I am sure I would."
But before he can sign on the dotted line at Anfield, Gerrard will be on England duty for Saturday's friendly with Slovakia and then Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against the Ukraine.
