Fulham have completed the signing of England striker Andy Johnson from Everton for an undisclosed fee. The former Birmingham had been linked with a move to Craven Cottage since the end of last season.
Johnson has put pen to paper on a four-year contract after Everton and Fulham agreed a fee for the 27-year-old. Despite scoring 22 goals in 73 games for the Liverpool club the arrival of Nigerian striker Ayegbeni Yakubu saw Johnson struggle to hold down a first team place.
The move will see AJ paired up with fellow summer arrival Bobby Zamora in a new look Fulham forward line. Cottagers manager Roy Hodgson has made eleven signings since the club survived the relegation battle. It will be interesting to see if Johnson and Zamora, considered two of England's brightest talents a few years back, will be able to form an effective partnership and deliver on their early promise.
