A bit like ham and pineapple on a pizza – ie sounds unappetising in principle but, in practice, is rather pleasing – football and poetry might seem unlikely bedfellows. We’re not too sure whether it does work too well but, so you can form your own opinion, why not take a look at www.footballpoets.org? It’s a website that does exactly what its name suggests.
There are some good, indifferent and downright poor efforts here – bit like West Ham’s shooting. But poetry is a subjective thing, no? Who are we to say, one way or another?
Check the site out – it’s worth a visit.
