Ferguson or Beckham to manage GB Olympic football team in 2012?
Fight, fight, fight, fight, fight. If there is a Team GB football team at the 2012 Olympics who's the best man to mange them? Well two names are in the hat already and they're not the best of friends.
Sports Minister Gerry Sutcliffe and Lord Coe favour old-Taggart-lookalike himself, Alex Ferguson, quoting his amazing record at club level, and presumably seeking to make sure that there would be at least one Scot involved in the whole affair.
But, wait, the Metro is reporting that David Beckham has plans for the role too. He was born near the Olympic site, he will almost certainly be out of a job by then, and he needs to do something to keep Posh in the media. We predict a bitch-fest between the two ex-Manchester United legends.
